En Garde! (2023)

I’m going to break the rules because this isn’t a game about the Musketeers (of France), but there are so few video games on our favourite theme that I couldn’t leave this one out (my favourite!).

This cloak-and-dagger game, developed by a small French studio in the south of France, doesn’t take itself too seriously. It lets you take on the role of Adalia de Volador, a skilled swordswoman who is pitted against the cruel Count-Duke.

Its highly colourful world and Zorro-style atmosphere give it both a caliente Latino edge and a refreshingly theatrical-cartoon humour.
